The nation is fairly settled today with winds variable across the country, and even changeable within regions across the day. 

The week ahead will be impacted by a low bringing rain and wind in the north and then a change to high pressure growing over the South Island with easterlies growing over the north.

Auckland Northland Waikato BOP
Fairly settled with a slight west to south west breeze, turning more northerly late in the day. A mix of sun and cloud.
Highs: 23 to 26
Lows: 12 to 17

Western North Island (also Central Plateau)
A mix of sun and cloud with west to north west winds increasing.
Highs: 21 to 24
Low: 12 to 15

Eastern North Island
Mostly Sunny with light, variable, winds or sea breezes. Another hot day, especially inland.
High:  22 to 29
Low: 12 to 16 

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with winds from the northerly quarter
High: 21
Low: 15

Nelson & Marlborough
Light winds mainly from the north west. Sunny and cloudy areas.
High: 24 to 26
Low: 14 to 16


West Coast
Light winds, Clouds increasing and patchy rain or showers by the end of the day.
Highs: 18
Low: 13


Canterbury
A mix of sun and cloud, light variable winds. Clouds increasing later in the day.
High: 23 to 26
Low: 13 or 14

Southland and Otago
Cloudy with patchy rain or showers moving in. Winds from the west mostly.
Highs:  14 to 19
Lows: 8 or 9
