A gusty westerly airflow eases over New Zealand today, showers affect western regions while out east it’s mainly dry and sunny.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Some cloud, a shower or two also especially in the west then some overnight rain. Westerly winds.
Highs: 14-16
 
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Showers ease mostly clearing by evening, a few sunny areas developing also. Strong gusty westerly winds ease in the evening.
Highs: 11-13
 
Eastern North Island
Sunny with strong west to northwesterly winds, easing in the evening.
Highs: 16-17
 
Wellington
Sunny with breezy west to northwesterly winds easing during the day.
High: 12
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with gusty west to southwesterly winds gradually easing during the day.
High: 13
 
Canterbury
A mainly sunny day, southwesterly winds die out by evening.
High: 11
 
West Coast
Showers ease then clear in the afternoon, a few sunny areas gradually increasing also. Gusty southwesterly winds ease.
Highs: 8-10
 
Southland & Otago
Any early showers and snow flurries to 300m mostly clearing then sunny areas develop, gusty west to southwesterly winds gradually ease.
Highs: 7-9
