A front sitting just on the northeastern fringe of the North Island slowly moves away to the northeast today, meanwhile a north to northwesterly airflow strengthens over the rest of the country. Another front moves onto the lower South Island this afternoon then gradually moves northwards in the evening. 

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas with west to northwesterly winds, cloud thickens a little later in the day.
Highs: 20-21

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 22-24

Any early fog clears away then expect a mainly sunny day, northerly winds becoming breezy in the afternoon. Gusty north to northwesterly winds possible about inland areas after midday.
Highs: 23-24

Mostly cloudy for Southland and Central Otago, a mainly dry morning however there may be a spot of rain or two. After midday more widespread rain sets in for a time before easing later. Coastal Otago sees sunny areas and increasing high cloud, late evening rain. Northerlies change gusty west to southwest late afternoon / evening.
