An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather, southerlies bring some cloud into the eastern North Island. Also for the Waikato northwards there may be a few isolated showers about this afternoon / evening.

Northland

Sunny areas and some cloud, cloud builds this afternoon with isolated showers possible then clearing later this evening. Light winds this morning then afternoon sea breezes.

Highs: 23-24

Auckland

Sunny areas and some cloud, cloud builds from midday then isolated showers
are possible through till evening. Light winds in the morning then afternoon sea
breezes.

High: 24

Waikato, Central North Island & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas and some cloud with light winds, cloud builds in the afternoon.
Mid afternoon through till evening isolated showers are possible about the
Waikato.

Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island

A mix of cloudy and sunny areas, cloud thicker in general this morning with
the chance of a drizzle patch. South to southeasterly winds.

Highs: 19-20

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds. Winds may ease about northern
Taranaki this afternoon perhaps tending light northwest for a time.

Highs: 21-23

Wellington

Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, southeasterly winds.

High: 17-18

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon northeasterlies.

Highs: 20-22

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, easterly breezes pick up this
afternoon near the coast.

Highs: 19-21

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light west to southwesterly winds, a few clouds build
about the ranges in the afternoon. Late afternoon / evening there may be an
isolated shower in the ranges otherwise remaining dry for the most part.

Highs: 19-21

Coastal Otago

Mostly sunny with east to northeasterly breeze, any morning cloud
clears.

High: 19-20

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light winds tending southwest this afternoon.

High: 23

Southland

Mostly sunny with light westerlies, perhaps tending more southwest this
afternoon. Any morning cloud breaks away.

High: 21
