A southerly airflow lies over the country today, a few showers about the east coasts of both Islands Canterbury northwards. Mainly dry elsewhere.

Northland
A few morning foggy areas then expect sunny spells with light south to southeasterly winds. A few showers may affect the tip of Northland during the day.
High: 16

Auckland

Sunny spells after any morning fog breaks away, light southerlies. Chance of a late afternoon shower in the east.
Highs: 15-16

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with southerly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Waikato & Central North Island
Mostly sunny after any morning fog burns away, light
winds gradually freshen from the southeast from afternoon.

Highs: 13-15

Eastern North Island

Southwesterly winds with increasing cloudy spells, a few showers move in
during the evening.
Highs: 13-14

Taranaki

Any early showers clear then sunny spells increase, southeasterly winds
becoming fresh by evening.
Highs: 13-14

Western North Island

Southeasterlies freshen from morning bringing cloudy spells, the odd shower
possible mainly later in the evening.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, brisk southerly winds.
High: 11

Nelson

Becoming sunny in the morning, southerly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough

Some morning cloud then sunny areas increase, cool southerly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Canterbury

Showers and a few snow flurries to 600m, easing and clearing near the coast
by midday. A few light showers may remain inland about the foothills till
evening. Cloud gradually breaking in all areas once showers clear, cool south to
southwest winds.

West Coast

A few morning showers clear to mostly sunny weather, light
southeasterlies.
Highs: 11-12

Coastal Otago

Any early cloud clears to sunny conditions, light winds.
High: 9

Central Otago

Morning cloud breaks away to mostly sunny weather, light winds.
Highs: 4-5

Southland

Mostly sunny with light northwesterlies, an overnight southwest change
brings a few brief showers and snow flurries to 500m.
Highs: 9-10
