A south to southeasterly airflow lies over the country today, eastern parts of both islands with be damp with rain or drizzle about. Out west conditions are drier although there could be some clearing rain this morning on the South Island’s West Coast.

Mostly cloudy with southeasterly winds, the odd brief shower at times from
afternoon. Sunny spells and thickening high cloud about Taranaki, southerly
winds pick up this afternoon.
Cloudy with southerly winds strengthening from this afternoon, drizzle
patches then some rain moves in during the evening.
Plenty of high cloud with southeasterly winds, chance of a late
shower.
