A large anticyclone sits over the country today bringing mostly settled weather, still a far amount of cloud about in the east of the South Island and about Gisborne. There may be a few isolated showers this afternoon Auckland northwards.

Sunny areas and some cloud, southeasterly winds. During the afternoon a few isolated showers develop then clearing later in the evening.

Auckland

Mostly sunny after morning cloud breaks up, there may be a few clearing
showers this morning about the Coromandel. Light easterlies, winds tend
southwest along the western coastline in the afternoon. Risk of a late afternoon
or evening isolated shower.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light winds, a few clouds at times mainly afternoon.
Winds tend northerly in the afternoon about the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 22-26

Eastern North Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells in the afternoon, southerly breezes.
Cloud hangs around Gisborne for much of the day however, chance of an morning
drizzle patch too.

Western North Island

Sunny with light southeasterlies. About northern Taranaki winds tend
westerly in the afternoon.

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southerlies.
Highs: 19-20

Nelson

Mostly sunny, light winds at first then afternoon northerly breezes.
High: 20

Marlborough

Early cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, light winds at first then
afternoon northeasterlies.

Canterbury

Cloudy spells with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterlies. There
may be a few sunny breaks during the afternoon.

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon sea breezes.

Mostly cloudy with light south to southwesterly winds, there may be a few
brief afternoon sunny spells.

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather in the afternoon, light west
to southwest breezes.
