A large anticyclone sits over the country today bringing mainly sunny and settled weather to most regions, the main exceptions being Gisborne and eastern Northland where there will be some cloud and the chance of a shower this morning.
Auckland & Northland
Mostly sunny with light winds this morning, winds still mainly light in the afternoon with sea breezes developing. About Northland expect mainly easterly quarter winds with some cloud in the east this morning and the chance of a
shower, sunny spells in the afternoon.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with light winds, afternoon northerlies about the Bay Of
Plenty.
Highs: 22-26
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud clears, afternoon easterlies. About
Gisborne expect cloudy skies in the morning with the chance of an early shower,
sunny spells break through later in the afternoon with southeasterly
winds.

Western North Island
Sunny with light winds and afternoon sea breezes about coastal areas,
inland winds tend southerly or southeasterly in the afternoon.
Sunny with light winds tending southerly around midday. Warm temperatures
about Upper Hutt.
Sunny with light winds, afternoon northerlies.
Sunny with light winds, afternoon east to northeast breezes.
Sunny with easterlies, a little breezy in the afternoon nearer the coast.
Warmest temperatures about some inland sheltered areas.
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds and afternoon sea
breezes.
