A ridge lies over the North Island tonight bringing mainly settled weather although cloud does build up in the southwest due to a front moving north over the South Island. The front over the South Island brings some rain mainly to the west and south with only a few showers making it up the east coast north of Otago.

Auckland & Northland

Clear spells and some cloud with west to southwesterly winds easing this evening, light winds overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-16

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Periods of cloud with westerly winds. Mainly clear skies about the Bay Of
Plenty with westerlies easing there this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-15

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud developing about the Wairarapa and
Hawkes Bay overnight, west to northwest winds ease this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Western North Island

Areas of cloud with west to northwest winds. Odd shower possible towards
dawn tomorrow morning.

Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Wellington

Fairly cloudy with strong northerlies easing a little this evening, a few
showers move in overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 17

Nelson

Northerlies with clear spells and some increasing cloud overnight, odd
shower towards dawn tomorrow.

Tonight’s Low: 17

Marlborough

Clear skies with gusty northwesterlies, winds change westerly overnight
bringing some cloud and the chance of a brief shower or two around dawn
tomorrow.

Tonight’s Lows: 16

Canterbury

High cloud increases this evening with north to northeasterly winds, a
change to southwesterlies overnight brings some cloud and the chance of a few
showers, more so towards the coast.

Tonight’s Low: 13

West Coast

Rain about South Westland spreading north this evening then easing
overnight to showers as northerlies change westerly.

Tonight’s Low: 15

Coastal Otago

Rain this evening, possibly heavy south of about Dunedin then clearing
overnight. Southwesterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 11

Central Otago

Areas of rain clearing overnight, southwesterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Southland

Areas of rain clear this evening, cloud breaks overnight. Westerly
winds.

Tonight’s Low: 9
