A front moves northwards over the South Island tonight bringing rain in the west and a few spots of rain out east later in the night. Settled for most of the North Island, some cloud thickens overnight in the northeast and there is the chance of a drizzle patch or light shower developing overnight for some.

Auckland & Northland

Clear with some cloud about, cloud thickens a little overnight. Easterly breezes. There may be a light shower about the Coromandel, northern parts of Auckland and eastern Northland by dawn tomorrow.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Clear with a few clouds about, cloud thickens overnight for the Bay Of
Plenty with drizzle then possible. Cloud thickens about the Waikato and
northeastern parts of the Central North Island overnight too.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-19

Eastern North Island

Sunny with east to northeast breezes easing this evening, some cloud
possible about Gisborne overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud developing overnight, westerlies
ease this evening. Light northerlies overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-17

Wellington

Clear with areas of high cloud thickening from later this evening,
northerly breezes.

Tonightâ€™s Low: 16

Nelson

High cloud increasing this evening with brisk northeasterlies easing, cloud
thickens overnight and there may be a drizzle patch by dawn.

Marlborough

Areas of high cloud increase this evening, northwesterly winds ease
later.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Canterbury

Thick high cloud with northerly breezes, a few spots of rain may move in
towards dawn tomorrow.

Tonight’s Low: 17

West Coast

Cloudy with northerly winds, rain about Fiordland and South Westland
spreads north overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Coastal Otago

Thick high cloud with a few areas of rain clearing this evening,
northerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Central Otago

Fairly cloudy with the odd spot of rain possible, northwesterlies change
more west to southwest later this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 14

Southland

Areas of rain clear this evening as northeasterlies change westerly, cloudy
spells remain overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 14
