Tropical Low June moves over the North Island tonight, expect areas of rain and easterly quarter winds, the main impact of this low will be felt from tomorrow morning when strong WSW winds gusting to gale force move into Northland and then Auckland. The South Island doesn’t have a lot going on although some resonable rain should move into Marlborough overnight, the best weather looks to be about Fiordland.

Auckland & Northland
Patchy rain or drizzle, dry spells too. Humid east to northeast winds. A strong west to southwest change develops about Northland towards dawn tomorrow morning, winds may gust to gale force especially in the west.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of
Plenty

East to southeast winds with periods of rain, dry spells too. Rain heavier
about the Bay Of Plenty.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-18

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with patch rain becoming heavier overnight, easterlies gradually
freshen.
Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Western North Island

Cloudy with rain about Taranaki spreading southwards this evening,
southeasterlies gradually pick up as rain moves in. Rain may be heavy at times
about Taranaki and southeasterlies become strong about southern Taranaki and
Kapiti tomorrow morning.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Wellington

Cloudy with rain developing later this evening or overnight, northerlies
tend easterly this evening then pick up after midnight.
Tonight’s Low: 15

Nelson

Cloudy with northerlies easing later this evening, winds tend southeast
overnight with rain towards dawn tomorrow.
Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Marlborough

Cloudy with the odd drizzle patch possible, easterly breezes. Showers about
inland southern parts of Marlborough ease this evening. Overnight or towards
dawn tomorrow rain moves in.

Canterbury

Cloudy skies with easterly breezes, drizzle at times from later this
evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

West Coast

Clear skies about South Westland, cloudier further north with light winds.
Drizzle at times north of about Greymouth.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Coastal Otago

Cloudy with a drizzle patch or two possible from later this evening,
easterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies with south to southwesterly winds easing this evening,
winds tend a little more southeast overnight with some cloud possible especially
in the east.
Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Southland

Sunny spells with breezy southwesterlies dying out around midnight.
Tonight’s Low: 7
