Mostly settled for the North Island overnight with areas of wind easing this evening, high cloud develops overnight spreading from the west. In the South Island a front moves into the lower West Coast bringing rain which becomes heavy. Rain spreads into Southland, Otago and then Cantebrury later in the night.

Northland

A few clouds about with southwesterly breezes for most although expect
light winds in eastern coastal areas. Light winds overnight for most tending
southerly. Some high cloud develops overnight.

Bay Of Islands

A few clouds with light northeasterlies easing this evening, winds tend
light southerly overnight with some high cloud developing.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Auckland

Some cloud with southwesterly breezes easing later this evening, light
winds overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 14

Central North Island, Waikato &
Bay Of Plenty

Clear spells and some cloud about the Central North Island and Waikato,
westerly breezes ease later with light winds overnight. A few clear spells
developing about western Bay Of Plenty this evening and eastern Bay Of Plenty
overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-14

Lake Taupo

Clear spells and some cloud, westerly breezes ease later this evening with
light winds overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud developing overnight, easterlies
ease later this evening. Winds tend northwest about Gisborne and
Wairarapa.

Tonight’s Low: 12-14

Western North Island

Clear spells and some cloud with westerlies easing later this evening.
Skies clouding up overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Wellington

Areas of cloud thicken this evening, becoming cloudy overnight with
northerly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Nelson & Kaiteriteri

Sunny with areas of high cloud increasing this evening. Becoming cloudy
overnight with the chance of a shower towards dawn. Northerlies ease around
midnight and winds tend southwest overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Marlborough

Areas of high cloud increasing this evening, northwesterlies ease by
midnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Canterbury

Thick high cloud with easterlies near the coast and northerlies inland,
northerlies spread to the coast overnight. Some rain spreads into the foothills
overnight and towards the coast near dawn.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

West Coast

Cloudy or becoming cloudy this evening, rain moves into Fiordland then
further north overnight. Rain becomes heavy overnight about Fiordland and South
Westland. North to northwest breezes.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Coastal Otago

Thick high cloud with easterly breezes, some rain developing overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Central Otago

Cloudy with southwesterly breezes, some rain develops later this evening
with winds tending northerly overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Southland

Cloudy with westerlies, some rain develops later this evening. Winds swing
round to the northeast overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10
