Hot and dry northerly winds will drive the temperatures into the mid-thirties for the start of the working week.
Monday morning will start off being very warm, around 20 degrees after sunrise. By lunchtime, the winds will pick up and it will be about 30 degrees. The peak of the heat looks to occur in the early afternoon as the clouds begin to close in.
It will remain warm into the evening, making it difficult sleeping conditions for those who like to go to bed early. Showers and storms will move through the city in the late evening and into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Patchy rain and cloudy conditions will continue throughout Tuesday, with the mercury remaining in the high-teens. The sun will emerge on Wednesday, although the onshore winds will be brisk.
