On King’s Birthday Monday high pressure moves in even more but southern and eastern regions of both islands may well notice the southerly wind kicking in more.
High pressure in the darker months of the year often brings cloud – this one especially due to the front that fell apart underneath it.
Many places will be cloudy over the coming days but a south to south west change should clear skies for some regions.
Have a great long weekend!

🌀An 'east coast low' for #Australia falls apart.
⭕️☁️High pressure crosses #NewZealand but brings plenty of cloud. Some rain from that broken low may brush northern NZ on Wednesday (50/50 call). pic.twitter.com/2vIWGhH43x
🌡️Still warmer than average for the start of winter in a number of North Island regions on #Monday. For others temperatures are about normal for this time of year thanks to the S to SW flow. pic.twitter.com/ZN3qPfQppt

🛰️King's Birthday #Monday will be cloudy for many to start with but a S to SW wind should clear some of it away as the day progresses. ☁️🌡️Cloudiest (and mildest) in the north of NZ. pic.twitter.com/RPzj957VUa

This Departure from Normal Temperature map for Monday & Tuesday shows NZ still milder (except the east from Dunedin to Wairoa where it returns closer to normal, then below normal, thanks to a southerly). pic.twitter.com/m8CCWfsUdc
