A mix of sun and cloud for the upper North Island. Risk of a shower, mainly late afternoon / evening in the west about Northland and Auckland. Southwesterly winds.
Mostly cloudy nearer the ranges about the lower North Island in the west, looking to be mainly dry although the odd shower is possible at times. Closer towards the coast expect a mix of sun and cloud. Southwesterlies freshen in the afternoon.
A few showers develop about the Wairarapa from afternoon then further north in the evening, southwesterly winds freshen. Cloudy about Wellington with fresh southerly winds, risk of the odd shower.
Mainly sunny about Nelson and Marlborough with light winds. Mostly sunny about Canterbury, perhaps some cloud about at times. Light southwesterly winds. A mainly sunny day along the West Coast with light southwesterly winds.
A mainly cloudy day about Southland with west to southwest winds, chance of a shower in the morning. Otago is mainly sunny, some cloud from afternoon brings the chance of a shower as light winds tend southwest.
