A ridge lies over the North Island on Friday, northwesterlies over the South Island with a front over the lower south.
Mostly sunny weather for the upper North Island, some high cloud especially in the far north. Winds mostly from the southeast then tending southwest in the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 20’s.
Mainly sunny for the lower North Island in the west, a touch of high cloud possible. Winds mainly light. Mainly cloudy along the east coast, drizzle eases from midday with dry periods increasing.
Mostly cloudy for the West Coast of the South Island, the odd shower about mainly morning. Rain for South Westland, possibly heavy then easing from afternoon. Mainly sunny for Nelson through to Canterbury in the east, some high cloud. Southland and Otago see some morning rain then clearing with some sun breaking through, late afternoon or evening showers possible as northerlies tend southerly.
Blue – Heavy form of precipitation.
Purple – Strong winds.
Yellow – Temperatures around the mid 20 degree mark or over.
