Heavy rain continues to fall across a number of North Island regions and the upper South Island.
The heaviest rain currently lies over Coromandel and Northland with a band now moving in to Auckland.
Reports of surface flooding came in last night around Northland with a similar downpour. (If you have reports of flooding, please post a comment below or use the ‘contact us’ tab at the top of the page).
While the heavy rain is expected to ease in some northern places this afternoon and evening another round of heavy rain or showers is expected overnight and in to tomorrow. Some falls may have thunder and be heavy enough to cause surface and flash flooding.
