Nothing too much going on today about the country weatherwise, we’ll have plenty of cloud in some western areas, drizzle or patchy rain is possible too. Out east generally clearer skies can be expected with light winds. A weak southerly does move up the east coast of the South Island to reach Canterbury in the afternoon, this will mainly just bring some cloud and a chance of some drizzle about the Canterbury foothills.
Auckland & Northland
A mix of sunny and cloudy spells with light winds tending northwesterly in the west and northeast in the east. About Northland skies are likely to be mostly sunny with cloud only starting to make an impact around late afternoon or evening.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Cloudy periods about the Waikato and Central North Island, sunny spells at times. More frequent sunny areas about the Bay Of Plenty. Light west to southwest winds.
Highs: 19-21
Eastern North Island
Sunny with light winds, winds tend northeast just on the coast.
Highs: 19-22
Western North Island
Cloudy areas with northwesterly breezes, skies quite cloudy about northern Taranaki and Kapiti with some morning drizzle.
Highs: 16-18
Wellington
The odd spit of rain or drizzle patch clearing around midday, skies remaining fairly cloudy with brisk northerlies easing in the evening.
Highs: 15-16
Nelson
Cloudy areas and sunny spells at times, northerly breezes. Any early morning rain clears.
High: 18
Marlborough
Sunny with some high cloud, northerly winds a little breezy at times ease in the evening.
Highs: 21-22
Canterbury
Mostly sunny in the morning, cloud increases in the afternoon as light winds tend southerly. Some drizzle may creep along the foothills of South and Mid Canterbury during the afternoon then clear later in the evening.

West Coast
Patchy rain or drizzle with light northerlies.
Highs: 15-16
Coastal Otago
Patchy rain or drizzle clearing in the afternoon, skies remaining fairly cloudy with southerlies tending northeast in the evening.
Highs: 12-13
Central Otago
Morning rain eases clearing around midday, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Light winds.
High: 16
Southland
Showers clear early on then sunny areas increase to become mostly sunny in the afternoon, westerly winds die out in the evening.
High: 13
