A ridge lies over central and northern New Zealand today bringing mainly settled conditions, a front about the southern half of the South Island brings some developing rain to the West Coast and high cloud out east.

Auckland & Northland
Cool southerlies tend a little more southwest in the afternoon, mostly sunny weather with cloud increasing from late afternoon. Expect mainly sunny conditions about Northland with lesser amounts of cloud if any.
Highs: 14-15

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mainly sunny with light winds tending southwest in the afternoon, a few clouds from afternoon about the Waikato and Central North Island. Frosty to start in some central inland areas.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island
A few early morning showers clear about and north of Hawkes Bay then becoming mostly sunny, cool southwesterly winds die out in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-14

Western North Island
Sunny with light winds in the morning south of Taranaki, westerlies from afternoon bring a few areas of cloud which thicken in the evening. For Taranaki expect southerlies in the morning to tend westerly by midday at which point some cloud develops.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington
Sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, northerlies a little breezy in the afternoon.
High: 14

Nelson
Sunny with some high cloud from late morning or midday. Westerly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough
Sunny at first, some high cloud developing by midday. North to northwest breezes develop in the afternoon. High cloud decreases later in the evening.
Highs: 17-18

Canterbury
Sunny early on however expect plenty of high cloud to develop by mid morning, light winds tend northwest inland. High cloud decreases in the evening.
Highs: 15-16

West Coast
Sunny at first however cloud increases from mid morning, some rain develops during the afternoon with northeasterly winds. Rain eases in the evening.
Highs: 13-14

Coastal Otago
Thick high cloud in the morning with a few spots of rain possible, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon with light winds possibly tending light southwest.
Highs: 14-5

Central Otago
A few spots of rain in the morning clear then expect a mostly sunny afternoon. West to northwesterly winds.
High: 13-14

Southland
A few spots of early morning rain clear then expect thick high cloud decreasing towards midday to a mostly sunny afternoon. Breezy westerly winds
High: 13
