A cooler change today moves up the country with rain moving into dry areas of the North Island. The rain is a little patchy – here’s the latest forecast…

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Patchy rain, some areas may be fairly dry with drizzle patches, others have more set in rain. Heaviest rain likely in the afternoon. Easing in the afternoon with a cooler change. Variable winds.
Highs: 23-29
 
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cooler with rain around, some heavier falls – hopefully over 30mms for some. Southerly change.
Highs: 16-18
 
Eastern North Island
Rain around Wairarapa, dry further north at first then later rain or downpours, may be a late thunderstorm around northern Hawke’s Bay, Gisborne/East Cape. Cooler southerlies developing.
 
Highs: 19-23
 
Wellington
Morning rain, then showers, then dry spells. Cool southerly change. 
High: 22
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Morning rain, then a cool change but becoming dry and fairly calm.
 
Highs: 17-19
 
Canterbury
Early rain clearing, likely before dawn in the north and earlier in the south. A calm but cooler day.
 
Highs: 16
 
West Coast
Becoming sunny and dry. Light winds.
Highs: 20-21
 
Southland & Otago
A cooler day but still warm inland. Coolest around coastal Otago. Dry with passing clouds. Light winds.
Highs: 15-21
