A westerly airflow lies over the North Island today while Northerlies build further south.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, chance of a shower also mainly afternoon, fairly dry otherwise. Inland areas could see some fog morning and night. Light west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas with the chance of a shower or two, light west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-15

Eastern North Island
Sunny with light winds, perhaps tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with increasing Northerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with a touch of high cloud later in the day, light winds then afternoon northwesterlies.
High: 13-16

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light northerlies, tending northeast near the coast.
Highs: 13-14

West Coast
Mostly cloudy with the chance of a shower or two, some rain about Fiordland for much of the day then becoming heavier there overnight. North to northeasterly winds increase later in the day.
Highs: 12-14

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-14
