A northeasterly airflow slowly comes together over New Zealand today as a large high is centred southeast of the country in the Pacific Ocean and a low churns away in the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny about Auckland and the Waikato with some high cloud from afternoon, Northland and the Bay Of Plenty sees cloudy areas build with a light shower or two from afternoon. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with light winds tending easterly or southeasterly.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island
Gisborne sees cloudy areas while further south there is a mix of sun and cloud. Winds are light tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-15

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with light southeasterly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny, there may be a little coastal cloud at times. Light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Canterbury
Mostly sunny, light east to northeasterly winds tend southerly in the evening bringing some cloud the risk of a shower or drizzle patch.
Highs: 8-11

West Coast
Mostly sunny with light east to northeast winds, there may be some coastal cloud at times.
Highs: 10-14

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some high cloud possible, light east to northeasterly winds for most, moderate about coastal Otago.
Highs: 7-11
