A northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today as a front and low combination move in from the Tasman Sea, another low moves down from the north.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Any morning low cloud or fog breaks to some sun then expect increasing high cloud, chance of a shower or two, more likely from afternoon in the east then some rain overnight. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, overnight rain. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, northerly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, some rain about Nelson and western Marlborough from evening possibly heavy about Tasman. Light north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Canterbury

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud with light north to northeasterly winds..
Highs: 14-16

West Coast

The odd drizzle patch about South Westland, thickening high cloud elsewhere. Drizzle becoming more widespread in the evening then turning to rain which may be heavy in a few isolated spots, northeasterly winds..
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago

Thick high cloud for Southland and Otago with areas of sun breaking through at times, rain develops later in the evening / overnight as light northwest winds change southwest.
Highs: 12-14
