Anticyclonic conditions today with a cold southwesterly airflow over New Zealand especially in the east, easing away.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

A mix of sun and cloud, any showers about Auckland and Northland clear in the morning. Fresh southwesterly winds ease at night.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Morning cloud with the chance of a shower then breaking to mostly sunny weather, southwesterly winds die out in the evening.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

A mix of sun and cloud, chance of a shower or two right on the coastal fringe otherwise mainly dry. Fresh southwesterlies ease in the evening.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Any morning showers clear then sunny spells increase, gusty southerlies die out later in the evening.
High: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds, perhaps tending east to northeast in the afternoon.
High: 15-16

Canterbury

Sunny or becoming mostly sunny in the morning, southwesterly winds about the coast ease then die out later on.
Highs: 13-14

West Coast

A sunny clear day with light winds.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas about Southland, the odd shower possible at times. Otago has a mainly sunny day after any early showers clear. West to southwesterly winds, breezy about the coast.
Highs: 13-14
