A front moves over the North Island today bringing in a cool southwest change and a few showers, the South Island sees morning showers clear for most and southwesterly winds easing.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy, a few afternoon showers as northwesterly winds change southwest. Showers clear by evening. Northland may not see the odd shower till late afternoon then clearing during the evening.
Highs: 22-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

A few showers move through in the morning then clearing around midday as northwest winds change south to southeast, a few afternoon sunny areas. Showers not moving through the Central North Island till afternoon however.
Highs: 19-21

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud. Light northwesterlies change southerly in the morning for the Wairarapa then pushing into Gisborne by evening bringing some cloud and a few showers which clear fairly quickly.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Morning showers as strong northerly winds change southerly, afternoon sunny areas break through.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Any early showers / spots of rain clear then expect sunny areas with east to southeasterly winds. Light afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury

Morning showers clear, cloud breaks later in the day. Southwesterly winds ease and die out in the evening.
High: 14

West Coast

A few morning showers clear away, there may be a sunny area or two in the afternoon. West to Sou’West winds.
Highs: 18-19

Southland & Otago

Any early showers clear then sunny areas increase, west to southwesterly winds. A few showers move in again overnight about Southland.
Highs: 14-15
