A southeasterly airflow eases over the North Island today with rain or showers clearing for most this morning but a few isolated showers possible again this afternoon and evening Waikato northwards. Over the South Island expect sunny areas and some cloud with the odd shower about the far south, this afternoon and evening a few isolated showers are possible about hills and ranges Canterbury northwards.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Any early showers clear then cloud breaks to sunny areas, a few isolated showers possible mainly late afternoon / early evening Waikato northwards. South to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning. Southeasterly winds, a little gusty about Taranaki.
Highs: 15-17

Eastern North Island

Early rain clears about Hawkes Bay, rain easing about Gisborne by midday with the odd light shower possible till evening. Cloud breaking away later in the day, winds from the southeast.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Sunny areas increase from morning, breezy south to southeasterly winds. Cloud thickens again in the evening.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas with southerly winds tending east to northeast in the afternoon. Cloud builds about the ranges in the afternoon then spreading out towards the coast in the evening, risk of an isolated shower or two late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Sunny areas with southerly winds tending east to northeast in the afternoon. Cloud builds about the ranges in the afternoon spreading towards the coast in the evening. Low risk of an isolated shower or two late afternoon / evening.
High: 15

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds, some cloud builds about the Buller ranges in the afternoon bringing the risk of an isolated shower or two any of which clear in the evening.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with the odd patchy shower about Southland, sunny areas elsewhere. Breezy west to southwest winds.
Highs: 11-15
