A west to southwesterly airflow lies over the country today. Mainly sunny in the east of New Zealand, cloudy for the west of the South Island. Western regions of the North Island are mostly sunny but expect some cloud now and then.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

A mainly sunny day with light southerly winds tending southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

A mainly sunny day with light winds tending west to southwesterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds in the morning tending east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington

Sunny with North to Nor’Westerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 18-20

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon East to Nor’East winds near the coast.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast

Cloudy areas with west to southwesterly winds, chance of a shower or two about otherwise mainly dry.
High: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas about Southland and to an extent the Otago coast with brisk westerly winds, a few morning showers clear about Southland. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
