A slim ridge of high pressure lies over the southern and eastern parts of New Zealand today while a weak trough of low pressure lies down the western side of the country. Some regions can expect cloud and the odd shower about today while others see the sun, for more details check out the forecasts below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny for the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty with light winds, Northland and Auckland has southwesterly breezes with some cloud and the chance of a shower or two.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy areas and the odd sunny period, mostly sunny the further inland one goes. South to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-14

Eastern North Island

Morning sun then cloud increases this afternoon bringing a patchy shower or two, light winds tend southerly by midday and pick up a little.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Cloudy periods with the chance of a shower or two. Southerly winds, easing from evening.
High: 10

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy areas with a shower or two about the place, Marlborough may see showers clearing away in the afternoon and Nelson in the evening. Light winds.
Highs: 9-11

Canterbury

Cloudy areas this morning with a few showers passing through, showers clearing this afternoon and cloud breaking away this evening. Southwesterly winds.
High: 9

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas and a few sunny periods for Southland and Coastal Otago, mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 6-8
