A ridge sits over the North Island today while a northwesterly airflow builds over the South Island, still mainly settled weather for most.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with light winds after a cold start. Northland sees some cloud in the afternoon with the chance of a shower as winds tend easterly, showers more likely in the east.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon westerlies possible on western coastlines.
Highs: 11-15

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, northwesterlies possible from afternoon about the Wairarapa.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds, picking up a little in the afternoon.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds.
High: 12

West Coast

Sunny areas and increasing cloud, northerly winds. Evening drizzle about South Westland then some rain moves in there overnight.
Highs: 12

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with some high cloud gradually increasing during the day, northerly quarter winds. Overnight a few spells of rain move through Southland.
Highs: 8-12
