An anticyclone still remains in the Tasman Sea today with a southwesterly airflow running over New Zealand. Conditions will begin to ease across the country but there will still be plenty of cloud about for some.

Auckland & Northland
Cloudy spells with west to southwest breezes, there may be a shower or two about in the morning. Sunny breaks increase in the afternoon about Northland with west to southwesterly winds easing.
Highs: 22-24

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloudy spells with the chance of a shower, sunny areas break
through into the afternoon. Westerly breezes.
Highs: 21-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud possible. Light winds for most with
afternoon easterlies for a time about Hawkes Bay. A few isolated showers may get going about the ranges of northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne late afternoon, spreading to the coast for a brief time then clearing in the evening.

Western North Island

Sunny spells and periods of cloud with breezy westerlies, low risk of a
shower this morning. About Taranaki skies will be a little cloudier, winds a
little stronger and the chance of a shower this morning rises too.
Highs: 20-21

Wellington

Mostly sunny with brisk northerlies, easing during the afternoon.
High: 20

Nelson

Sunny with a few clouds about, southwesterly breezes.
High: 23

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with westerlies in the morning then northwesterlies from
afternoon.
Highs: 25-26

Canterbury

The odd morning shower eases then clears, sunny spells then break through.
Light winds tend southeasterly in the afternoon. Late evening there may be a
shower or two otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 20-21

West Coast

Showers ease and clear by evening, the odd sunny spell possible from
afternoon otherwise expect cloudy periods. West to southwest breezes.
High: 17

Coastal Otago

Morning showers clear then sunny spells increase, breezy southwesterly
winds die out later in the evening.
High: 17

Central Otago

Morning showers clear then sunny spells break through for the afternoon,
southwest breezes.
Highs: 21-21

Southland

Morning rain eases to showers which then clears early afternoon, sunny
spells then break through. Cool southwesterlies ease in the evening.
High: 16
