Mainly settled over New Zealand today as an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea spreads a weak ridge over the country. Southland remains fairly cloudy though and a few isolated afternoon showers could pop up about inland parts of Canterbury, Marlborough, Gisborne and Northland later in the afternoon.

Mostly sunny with light winds at first, sea breezes in the afternoon. Low risk of a few late afternoon / evening isolated showers in the east.

Bay Of Islands

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon east to northeast breezes. Low
risk of a few late afternoon / evening isolated showers.
High: 24

Auckland

Mostly sunny with light winds this morning, afternoon
southwesterlies.
High: 23

Central North Island, Lake Taupo, Waikato
& Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light winds this morning then afternoon west to southwest
breezes. The Bay Of Plenty sees afternoon northerlies however then easing in the
evening.
Highs: 21-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with southwesterlies easing and winds tending east to
northeast in the afternoon. Low risk of a few late afternoon / evening isolated
showers about the Gisborne ranges.
Highs: 21-23

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon westerlies.
Highs: 20-21

Wellington

Sunny with some cloud, northerlies from this morning. Low risk of a late
evening shower.
Highs: 19-20

Nelson & Kaiteriteri

Mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon northerlies.
High: 22

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon east to northeast breezes near the
coast. Chance of a few isolated afternoon showers inland otherwise mainly
dry.
Highs: 22-23

Canterbury

Sunny with some cloud, light winds at first then southerlies by midday.
Winds tend a little more southeast inland. A few isolated afternoon showers
possible about inland areas otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 20-22

West Coast

Sunny spells with light winds tending west to southwest in the
afternoon.
Highs: 18-19

Coastal Otago

Cloudy spells and sunny breaks at times, brisk west to southwest
winds.
High: 17

Central Otago

Sunny with some cloud about at times especially in the south and east.
South to southwest breezs.
Highs: 19-22

Southland

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, westerly breezes.
High: 14
