Showery conditions ease over most of the North Island tonight as a low pressure system weakens. Mainly dry for the South Island after showers clear Southland, coastal Otago and areas north of Greymouth this evening.

Northland

Occasional showers, some heavy then easing this evening. Northwesterlies tend southerly overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10-11

Auckland

Showers, some possibly heavy easing this evening and mostly clearing overnight. Westerlies ease and tend southerly overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 11

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Showers, some heavy ease this evening and clear. Light westerlies ease too
and tend southerly overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 5-11

Eastern North Island

Clear spells and some cloud, showers about some Hawkes Bay areas and
Gisborne clearing this evening. Winds mostly light, coming from the southerly
quarter.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-8

Western North Island

Skies becoming mainly clear this evening, light winds. Remaining showers
about Taranaki clear this evening as southeasterlies develop, skies clear up
too.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-8

Wellington

Mainly clear skies with southerlies dying out this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Nelson

Mainly clear skies, light northerlies ease this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Marlborough

Any remaining isolated showers clear this evening, clear spells overnight
with light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 5

Canterbury

Cloudy or becoming mostly cloudy this evening, light winds tend
southwesterly overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 4

West Coast

Periods of cloud with showers north of Greymouth clearing this evening,
light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Coastal Otago

A few showers move through this evening then clear, periods of cloud
persist overnight with breezy west to southwest winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Central Otago

Periods of cloud with southwesterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 2-3

Southland

Showers mostly clearing this evening although the odd one may hang around,
cloudy periods with southwesterlies easing overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 7
