A strong southwesterly airflow eases over the country tonight, temperatures getting a bit nippy in inland areas overnight.

Northland
Mainly clear skies with some cloud in the west, brisk southwesterly winds
ease later this evening.
Tonight’s lows: 12-15

Auckland

Strong southwesterly breezes ease later this evening, clear with a few
clouds about.
Tonight’s lows: 14-15

Central North Island, Waikato
& Bay Of Plenty

Chance of a few showers about southern parts of the Central North Island
this evening otherwise mainly dry. Strong west to southwest breezes ease this
evening with light winds overnight. Southwesterlies continue to puff through
overnight about the Bay Of Plenty, winds will not be as strong as they have been
today though.
Tonight’s lows: 6-12

Eastern North Island

Cloudy about the Wairarapa with a few showers, showers clear later this
evening with a few then moving into Hawkes Bay and Gisborne with winds changing
southerly. Showers mostly clear overnight with winds easing.
Tonight’s lows: 10-12

Western North Island

Sunny spells and cloudy areas with strong west to southwest breezes easing
this evening. Winds change southerly in the evening south of Taranaki bringing
the risk of a brief shower, winds tend southerly about Taranaki overnight
however remaining mostly dry.
Tonight’s lows: 8-9

Wellington

Cloudy periods with strong southerly winds, chance of a shower otherwise
mainly dry. Cloud breaks up overnight with southerlies easing a little.
Tonight’s lows: 11-12

Nelson

Mainly clear skies, strong southwesterlies ease later this evening.
Tonight’s low: 10-11

Marlborough

Clear skies inland with some cloud nearer the coast, easterly breezes ease
away this evening and any showers near the coast clear and cloud breaking up
overnight.
Tonight’s lows: 7-8

Canterbury

Strong south to southwesterly winds across the region easing this evening,
isolated showers about North Canterbury clearing. Getting fairly cool overnight
in inland areas with light winds developing.
Tonight’s lows: 5-8

West Coast

Mainly clear skies with brisk southwesterlies easing this evening, some
cloud along the ranges north of Haast and about Buller clearing later this
evening.
Tonight’s lows: 8-9

Coastal Otago

The odd shower gradually clears this evening, clear spells develop
overnight with strong southwesterlies gusting to gale force at times easing
after midnight.
Tonight’s lows: 7-8

Central Otago

Strong south to southwesterly winds ease overnight, mainly clear in the
west with areas of cloud in the south and east breaking away overnight.
Tonight’s lows: 3-5

Southland

Cloudy periods with strong southwesterlies gusting to gale force at times
easing later this evening and overnight, the odd shower clears this evening and
clear spells break through after midnight.
Tonight’s lows: 6-7

Has got very cloudy as wind gusts strongly in New Lynn, fllowing a magnificent day!

Time to take down gazebos before they fly away!
