ELECTRICAL STORM MOVING INTO AUCKLAND/NORTHLAND

A major electrical storm is moving in to Auckland.  Widespread thunderstorms spread from Auckland city right into Northland.  “I have never seen so many lightening stikes on our Lightening Detector.  This is a signicifcant thunderstorm event”.
 
Duncan warns there is a high risk of lightening strikes in Auckland city and people should stay in doors, especially in open areas.  Most vulnerable are west, central and northern Auckland.
 
He also warns of a significant risk of flash and surface flooding from localised down pours.
