Easterly brings more cloud, drizzle, rain on Thursday – The Big Picture

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The airflow over most of New Zealand is an east to southeasterly, meaning eastern coastlines will likely be cloudy, with areas of rain or drizzle.

Southland and inland parts of Otago break mostly sunny in the afternoon, while coastal Otago sees morning drizzle, then a few sunny areas after midday.

Rain may be heavy about the East Coast of the North Island during the day too, while western parts of the North Island see cloudy areas with a few showers about.

The West Coast of the South Island is mainly sunny though, with some breezy southeasterly winds.
