Easterlies hanging around – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There isn’t too much severe weather around on Friday, with some drizzle and a few scattered heavy showers all there is to speak of.

The East Coast of the North Island (from Gisborne to the Wairarapa) should just get some scattered drizzle and intermittent rain during the day, though there is the chance of a moderate heavy fall in the ranges during the day.
While this normally wouldn’t be anything to write homes about, with the already saturated ground in that region it’s still something to keep an eye on.

In the afternoon, Northland could see an isolated heavy fall or two, due to some instability.

Main Centres

Auckland

Sunny areas at first, then cloud building in the afternoon, while a few isolated showers possible late afternoon and into the evening, though the risk will be higher further north – temperatures in the mid to late teens.

Wellington

A cool day in the capital, with cloudy areas and the chance of a shower or two, otherwise dry. Breezy southeasterly winds will keep temperatures in the low double digits.

Christchurch

It’s cool in Chirstchurch too, as early cloud then breaks to sunny areas, while drizzle moves into the city overnight, after a day in the low tweens, temperature wise.
