As expected, it was a cold night and temperatures still remain fairly chilly this morning.

Whitianga is the mildest spot with a coolish 11 degrees, whereas more than 95% of the country are still in single figures this morning and a few frosts were recorded in some sheltered areas.

The main centres are all consistent and the mid teens are expected to be commonplace today.
