Blustery Monday evening

Winds continue to be strong and gusty across much of the North Island but they are starting to ease slowly. Wellington is now experiencing more of a breeze, after strong winds have buffeted the city over the last couple of days.

Southern parts of the mainland are seeing winds beginning to pick up with Gore seeing the nor’ wester gust up to gale force. Southwest cape is bearing the biggest winds across the nation with a westerly in excess of 130kph!

Tuesday appears to be gusty and showery over much of the South Island tomorrow with these conditions expected to  spread north later in the day.
