Aviation: Aircraft flips at Otago airfield

A pilot suffered minor injuries when their light aircraft flipped at an Otago airfield this morning.

A police spokesman said the incident occurred at Cromwell Racecourse Aerodrome about 11am.

It was unclear whether the aircraft had been taking off or landing when it flipped.

The pilot had a cut to the hip and was being assessed by paramedics at the scene.

There were no passengers on board.
