Australia: Sydney to turn on a stunner for 47th City2Surf

> From the WeatherWatch archives

With the 47th Annual Sydney City2Surf only a few days away, here is what you need to know about race day.

It will be a cool start for those travelling to the start line, with temperatures likely to be less than five degrees in most Western Sydney suburbs. In the city, it will be a bit warmer, around 10 degrees.

By the time the first group leaves, it should be around 12 degrees. Although if you are opting for a slower pace, it will be a comfortable 15 degrees at start time. Winds will be light for most of the race, under partly cloudy skies.

For those who want to celebrate the afternoon away, the sun will come out and join the party as the westerly winds pick up, reaching around 20-21 degrees.

If you have pondered a dip after the race in years gone by, then this year may be the one to do it. The water at Bondi Beach is about 20 degrees, a touch warmer than most years.
