The second of the 3 storm systems we expect this week is on the way on Wednesday – with the west of the country again getting the worst of the weather.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty westerlies are all in order once again for our midweek – check out the weather highlights for the next 3 days, below.
Blue: Heavy rain for the West Coast of the South Island during the morning, and western parts of the North Island.
Purple: Strong north to northwesterly winds possible from Canterbury through to the Cook Strait area.
Green: Thunderstorms possible in the Waikato and Taranaki areas.
Cloud thickens in the east of both islands, with the chance of a shower here and there through the day.
Blue: Heavy showers and possible heavy rain on the West Coast of the South Island.
Light Blue: Showers and possible heavy rain in Auckland, Northland and Waikato overnight.
Blue: Heavy rain on the West Coast.
Green: Heavy spells of rain and stormy conditions for the western North Island, Waikato, Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Northland.
Purple: Gale force northwest winds through Cook Strait, and strong winds for the west of the North Island.
