A 4.3 aftershock centred near Lincoln struck the area about 20 minutes ago.
Reports are coming in of it being felt as far as Ashburton and Timaru.
It was centred 7km deep and lasted nearly 10 seconds. there have been no reports of damage at this stage.

Much prefer that shake to the closer ones, a good shutter but not enough to be scary. I guessed 4.0, had it been in lyttelton it probably would have been but those extra few kilometres show the difference.
