A southerly change – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Tuesday, a southerly change moves up the east coast of the South Island – though risks associated with the change won’t cause too many serious problems.

The front moves onto Otago around midday, before then moving into Canterbury early in the evening, and pushing up into Wellington by nightfall.
There’s not too much going on with this southerly change, but it may be a bit gusty at times as it moves north.
When it gets to Wellington, winds may become strong late evening or overnight.

Main Centres

Auckland

A cloudy sort of a day in Auckland, with light easterly winds keeping temperatures in the mid 20s for the most part, while the evening brings the chance of a passing shower or two.

Wellington

A similar story in the capital, with a mostly sunny morning and afternoon turning cooler by nightfall, as a southerly change comes through – but not before the temperatures get up to the mid 20s.

Christchurch

Christchurch starts fine, with increasing cloud and a shower or two moving through towards late afternoon, as the southerly change comes through here too.

I do hope the Southerly change brings cooler nights to Auckland.
