The warmest spots around the country this morning are Auckland and Paeroa with both centres on 18 degrees.

Gore and Invercargill are a little cool on 9 degrees at the moment, however the windiest cities are Palmerston North and Christchurch, with easterlies gusting up to 40 kph.

Inside the last 24 hours, patchy if any rain has filled up the guages, in any of the urban areas but one or 2 showers are dotted here and there however they should clear away from the north this morning.Inland areas of the North Island have a 30% chance of a shower this afternoon.

Over the mainland, some rain looks likely to move into Nelson and down the West Coast. One or 2 showers might pop up later today around places such as Gore and Ranfurly.

Tomorrow and Tuesday look like a soggy start to the week for most of the country.
