A bit of this and that – The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Tuesday we have a southwesterly airflow over most of New Zealand, meaning a mix of cloud, sun and a few showers here and there.

North Island

Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells in the west, with the chance of the odd brief shower, otherwise mainly dry.
Winds breezy or brisk from the southwest.
The Bay Of Plenty is mostly sunny, with breezy southwesterly winds.
Mostly sunny along the East Coast too, while light winds tend southerly from the afternoon.

South Island

Cloudy areas along the West Coast with southwesterly winds, and the odd shower about.
A south to southwest change moves through Southland and Otago in the morning, then into Canterbury during the afternoon.
This will likely bring areas of cloud and a few showers, while it stays mainly sunny with warmer temperatures before this front moves through.
Marlborough and Nelson stay sunny though, with winds from the northwest.
