Weather Video: All eyes on the sub-tropics as low pressure grows

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure dominates a large chunk of New Zealand but a weak low over the next few days will help to drive in narrow areas of rain, some heavy falls and some drizzly.

Between this sinking low and the large high the nor’east winds this weekend will increase nationwide, lifting temperatures further in the South Island, especially overnight. Next week there may be a tropical cyclone north of New Zealand to monitor although it’s far too early to know if it will directly impact NZ or not.

The potential storm has been appearing in the maps for a number of days now and quite a few people have been asking us about it.
