An anticyclone brings mainly settled conditions to the country overnight however a weakening front moving over the North Island brings some cloud and a few showers to some.
Auckland & Northland
Areas of cloud increase this evening with the chance of a light shower, Northland may see the risk of a light shower overnight. West to southwest winds ease later this evening.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Cloudy areas with westerly winds, some rain about the Central North Island this evening especially in the east then clearing. Chance of a shower or two
about the Waikato this evening then clearing. Clear skies about the Bay Of
Plenty with northerlies, some cloud developing there later this evening then
there is the low risk of a shower overnight.

Mainly clear skies although a period of showers, possibly heavy moves
through the Hawkes Bay this evening then clears. Light winds.
