It’s a bit of a messy set up, but there is a chance of rain for the top of the North Island later on Monday and going into Tuesday.
The trough – which is a small developing area of low pressure – will just brush the upper North Island with some light drizzly showers but also the risk of some heavier, localised, downpours.
Elsewhere most places are dry or mostly dry.
Not everyone will get the rain they need, but hopefully this will bring some overdue downpours into some dry northern areas.
