It’s raining again – Weather risks for Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s looking wet to start with in the lower north and upper South Islands this morning, with heavy showers possible on both sides of Cook Strait, particularly Nelson and Marlborough.
Those showers could well continue pretty heavily for some time in the lower North Island through the morning.

Later in the day, showers are likely in the west of the North Island and the Bay of Plenty, possibly heavy with thunderstorms at times towards evening, though this should tail off and ease overnight.

Winds should stay fresh and breezy, but nothing more than that for anyone in either island.
