The weather forecast for election day is far from perfect but there will still be plenty of opportunities to get out and vote.
Wettest weather will be confined to the western coastline – including Auckland.
Some showers in the afternoon will be heavy.
Eastern areas start off dry and warm but a southerly moves in later on Saturday bringing snow down to 300 or 400 metres in the lower South Island.
Conditions improve – you guessed it – by Monday.

Lovely day today. Not a drop of rain anywhere near for voting – so no excuses for not putting your ticks on the paper!
